Neohesperidin, which is hydrogenated to form neohesperidin dihydrochalone, is a non-carcinogenic and low-calorie sweetener that is 1000 times sweeter than sucrose and has been approved for use as a food additive by the EU (EU) and FDA (US Food and Drug Administration).
