Ophiopogonjaponicus(L.f.).Ker-Gawl. The dry root tuber, also known as wheat Mendon, inch winter, hang wheat winter, along the step grass, inch mendon, hang wheat winter, Zhu Cundong. Those produced in Zhejiang Province are called "Hang wheat winter", while those produced in Sichuan Province are called "Sichuan wheat winter". Hangophiopogonis is mainly produced in Cixi, Yuyao, Hushan, Quudun, Xiaoshan and other places in Zhejiang Province. Ophiopogon sichuanese produced in Mianyang, Santai county, Sichuan.

Main ingredients

The main components isolated and identified from Ophiopogonis japonicus were steroidal saponins, isoflavones, polyglycans and primary chromic ketones. More than 20 steroidal saponins have been obtained from different kinds of Ophiopogonis.

Process flow

Ophiopogon was boiled in water for reflux extraction for one to three times. The extraction solution was combined and microfiltered with ceramic membrane. The filtrate was concentrated into extract and dried to obtain ophiopogon extract.
